Liposuction

Liposuction tedavi

Liposuction is a surgical procedure aimed at removing localized fat deposits that are resistant to diet and exercise, thereby enhancing body contours and proportions. It is not a weight-loss method but rather a body contouring technique. The procedure can be performed on various body areas, including the abdomen, thighs, arms, neck, and back.

Frequently Asked Questions

The surgery can be performed under both general and local anesthesia. General anesthesia is preferred in our clinical practice.

Liposcution can be performed on areas such as the waist, hips, belly area, breasts, chin, back and inner thighs.

The removed fat can be injected into the buttock area for a more shaped and firmer buttock, or into the face for a lively and voluminous face, or into the breasts to add volume, after undergoing certain procedures.

It takes between 3-6 hours depending on the number of areas to be covered.

Because fat is removed from the treated areas, weight regain from the treated area is extremely rare. Patients gain weight from other areas that were not treated. Therefore, patients should be mindful of their diet and lifestyle after the procedure.

Because fat is removed at the end of the surgery, the skin adapts to the underlying muscle layer with a corset. There are many factors that affect skin adaptation, including genetic factors, diet, regular use of the corset, and smoking. Due to the wide range of parameters, some patients may experience minimal irregularities.

One of the biggest misconceptions is that liposuction is a weight-loss method. Liposuction is not a weight-loss method; it's a body-shaping technique. Weight gain can even occur due to swelling, especially in the early postoperative period. With a healthy diet and exercise, results are visible within two months.

After the procedure, scars smaller than 1 cm remain at the cannula insertion sites. Creams are applied during the healing period to minimize scarring.

Liposuction is not recommended for patients who have a history of clots or bleeding, have heart disease, diabetes, or blood pressure, or who use chronic blood thinners.

Minor asymmetries are inevitable after every surgery. Even with liposuction, subtle asymmetries between the right and left sides of the body may occur. However, the asymmetry is not obvious.

As with all surgical procedures, recovery from liposuction depends on both the surgeon and the patient. You can read our consent form for general information about the procedure, its general process, and potential complications.
