Cheek filler is a cosmetic treatment used to add volume to the upper cheek area, thereby providing a lifted and youthful appearance. The filler was carefully injected over the cheekbones, targeting the deep layer above the bone (supraperiosteal plane).
This technique is particularly effective in enhancing the midface structure and providing the face with a subtle lifting effect without surgery.
After the procedure, a cold compress was applied for 5–10 minutes. Once the patients are examined and cleared, they are discharged on the same day. Minor swelling or bruising may appear over the next few days, but these effects usually resolve rapidly.
For the first 24 hours, avoid applying pressure to the treated area. Additionally, patients should avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, and other heat-related activities for a few days after the procedure.
No, the fillers used in clinical practice are not permanent. On average, cheek fillers last approximately 12 months, depending on the individual’s metabolism, lifestyle, and the specific filler product used.
If you are not satisfied with the outcome, cheek fillers can be safely dissolved using an enzyme called hyaluronidase. This allows for correction or reversal of treatment when necessary.
