The decision is based on individual assessments. Generally, patients with thin skin and minimal tissue receive implants in the dual plane position, where the upper part is under the muscle and the lower part under the breast tissue. If sufficient breast tissue exists, subglandular placement is also viable.

Incisions are made at the inframammary fold, periareolar area, or axilla. Regular follow-ups are scheduled, and some patients may benefit from postoperative massages. Initially, implants may appear elevated, but they settle into a natural position by the third month. Swelling and asymmetry are normal in the early stages, with full adaptation taking up to a year. Strenuous activities should be avoided for the first three weeks, and chest exercises for six weeks. Swimming is permissible after one month. Special bras are recommended for the first six weeks, followed by sports bras for the next six months. Sleeping on the implants should be avoided during the first month.

When implants are placed via the axillary or inframammary routes, the milk ducts remain unaffected, thus not impeding breastfeeding.
