An arm lift, or brachioplasty, is a surgical procedure aimed at removing excess skin and fat from the upper arms to achieve a more toned and youthful appearance. This procedure is particularly beneficial for individuals who have experienced significant weight loss or aging, leading to sagging skin and decreased skin elasticity in the upper arm region.

In particular, patients who lose excessive weight experience sagging in their arms, along with their entire body. Furthermore, some patients experience sagging even without significant weight loss, and arm lift surgery is ideal for these patients.
In clinical practice, general anesthesia is preferred. However, operations are also performed with sedation.
A scar will appear as a line extending from the inner arm to the armpit. Scars generally fade within six months, but recovery varies from patient to patient. Some patients may experience swelling despite the use of scar-reducing creams. In some cases, laser treatment is used to remove scars, but they may not be completely removed.
Arm lift surgery is not a serious operation.
No surgery is 100% permanent. Sagging will continue with age, but the positive effects of surgery will always remain. Of course, sudden weight gain and loss will also negatively impact the longevity of the surgery.
Like all procedures, arm lifts can cause minimal asymmetries. Even when the stitches are placed symmetrically, healing times can vary.
As with all surgical procedures, recovery from an arm lift depends on both the surgeon and the patient. You can read our consent form for general information about the procedure, its overall process, and potential complications.
