Under-eye filler is a procedure performed in patients with mild under-eye puffiness or volume loss in the tear trough area. Because under-eye skin is particularly thin and sensitive, the procedure must be performed with great care. In most cases, a blunt-tip cannula is used to minimize trauma. It is essential to set realistic expectations before the procedure. Patients should understand that the goal is not a perfectly smooth undereye area. Although fillers can reduce the appearance of dark circles and hollowness, they may not eliminate them entirely.
Mild swelling and bruising may occur immediately following the procedure. As the filler gradually settles, these effects subside. The final results became more visible after 2–3 weeks.
For the first 24 h, the pressure was avoided in the treated area. Additionally, it is best to refrain from intense physical activity and exposure to heat sources such as saunas for a few days following the treatment.
No fillers used in clinical practice are permanent. Depending on the individual’s metabolism and product used, under-eye fillers typically last for approximately 12 months.
Yes. In cases where the results are unsatisfactory or overcorrection occurs, the filler can be dissolved quickly using an enzyme called hyaluronidase.
A standard filler syringe contained 1 cc of product, about the size of a teaspoon. In most cases, not all were used during the first session. Some are often reserved for follow-up appointments to fine-tune results.
