Brow Lift

Brow lift- Kaş kaldırma

What is Brow-lift and temporal-lift surgery?

Brow-lift and temporal-lift surgeries were performed on patients with tired or sad expression. Since the eyebrows and forehead were evaluated as a single unit, both anatomical structures were addressed together during the procedure. Various techniques have been defined for these procedures. Typically, a 2–3 cm incision is made within the hairline at the temple area, allowing for both brow lifting and temporal tightening. The procedure takes approximately 1.5 hours to complete.

Frequently Asked Questions

The primary goal of surgery is to achieve a youthful and refreshed appearance. The procedure elevates the eyebrows to a higher and more arched position while the temples are lifted to a higher placement. It effectively corrects tired expressions and drooping eyebrows, thereby restoring a more vibrant and energetic look.

In our clinical practice, brow lift and temporal lift surgeries are performed under general anesthesia.

In our clinical practice, these surgeries are performed under general anesthesia.

No surgical procedure could be described as permanent. Factors such as skin quality, environmental influences, and genetics significantly affected the longevity of the results. As aging progresses, tissue sagging continues, which may diminish the effects of surgery. However, the improvements achieved through this procedure have never been completely lost.

Most people naturally have some degree of facial asymmetry. During surgery, the eyebrows and forehead were lifted slightly higher than the desired final position to account for potential sagging during the healing process. As the eyebrows settle postsurgery, this descent may not always occur symmetrically, potentially leading to minor eyebrow asymmetry. Treatments such as Botox and massage therapy are recommended for patients who are particularly concerned about early asymmetry. In some cases, the nerves in the affected area may experience temporary tension, which can result in reduced movement in one or both eyebrows. However, the likelihood of being permanent is extremely low. For unilateral cases, Botox is often used to restore symmetry until natural balance is achieved. It is important to note that all surgical procedures on the face carry the risk of asymmetry. Ensuring that patients are aware of this possibility before surgery is crucial for setting realistic expectations.

As with all surgical procedures, the healing process in brow lift and temporal lift surgeries depends on both the surgical technique and the patient’s individual factors. For detailed information on the general process and possible complications, please refer to our consent form.
